Thursday I saw a horrible randition of Cabaret. Everything about it was bad! In a secret way I'm kind of glad. I auditioned for it back in September and didn't get cast and at the time I was all disappointed, but now I couldn't be happier that my name wasn't attached to that three hour long, ten dollar crapfest. They must have put all of their budget into advertising, ticket printing, and programs, because those were the best part. Everything from the directors interpretation of the script to the scene changes were just vial. But on the upside it gave us all another chance to dress up like Cabaret girls and take slutty pictures.
I am not doing so good on the whole staying here to work thing. Oh well. it'll get done eventually. My mom and my brother came to visit today and we had a two hour feast thanks to my meal card. It was good to see them, but also strange to have such a quick visit. I came back here fully intending to crank out an essay but it didn't happen. Actually I've got a detailed outline done so I'm not in horrible shape. I do have until Friday. I just want something on paper so I can go conference my thesis with a T.A.
My favourite thing at the moment is Homer's Animal House song that he sings at the end of the Mozart parody episode. Oh lord it is brilliant! I loves my Homer songs but this one has a brilliant range, clever lyrics and a fabulous dance to go along with it. The whole thing just brings me great joy!
I'm also loving my SNL right now. Particularly the Jingleheimer junction sketch. I have no shame in downloading snl. When they put all the episodes I want on dvd, then I'll feel guilty followed by a mad shopping frenzy!
