nothin' like a good blintz

Well all being well my Tama and my Jess are off marching and waving their vaginas proudly in Washington D.C today. Hopefully the weather wasn't as miserable there as it was here! I'm really disappointed that I couldn't go with them, but it was just bad times. The family needed me here, and I have trouble refusing such things. I need to see them soon though because I'm feeling all out of touch. I hope they don't hate me too much for not coming! I'm sad I had to miss it.

But alas I've been here. Here cleaning. And seeing people, and sleeping. Yesterday I yoga-yessed and then made my way home for a solo picnic on my deck. I was in a funk early in the day, so I ended up on the couch in the late afternoon indulging in some fine TLC programming. Then I spent the rest of the day and most of the night cleaning my room. So far I've got a huge bag of clothes and shoes to donate and a bag of garbage and a bag of recycling to do away with. It's all good. There's still work to be done though. My mom went out with friends, and my brother (who I was supposed to be babysitting) ended up going to a party as well, so I was all alone.

After hours of playing Avenue Q and various other 304 nostalgic tracks I went upstairs and watched my comfort movie, Almost Famous. I made craft dinner and had me a girl-night-in. It was all good, but once the movie was done I got to feeling a little bit lonely. Oh well.

This morning my mom, my brother, and I went to a huge Jewish brunch called "Bella! Did ya eat!". It was at the Free Times Cafe near College and Spadina. It was so good! Latkes, blintzes, bagels, challah french toast (the only kind worth making really), scrambled eggs, fruit, and all kinds of Jewish desserts. So worth the cold weather! And on top of that after brunch a Klezmer band performed. I haven't heard live Klezmer in years. It got me all stirred up. Funnily enough it made me miss Jess, Tama and Hezzie too. Maybe we'll all go to brunch one day and I'll teach them the true meaning of "Oy Jewish Culture!".

I love Almost Famous too.

Funny you mentioned it, because it was my SN on MSN today for about a half hour... I was listening to some tracks on iTunes and came upon "Mona Lisas and Mad Hatters" and it reminded me of Almost Famous.

So I'm gonna watch that tonight.

Sorry---totally random thought.

Apparently it was on tv last night, so I'm not the only one who was watching it. Odd coincidence that I had that overwhelming urge to bust out the dvd.

I was watching Almost Famous when you were watching Almost Famous.....but I was getting paid to do it.
Strangely, I wished I was watching it with you.

Strangely? ) How much are they paying you? I'll double it and throw in some extra features.
