I wish I had a river, I could skate away on.
I tried to do work. I really did. But instead I ended up watching Shakespeare in Love. Oh that movie hurts. It’s so beautiful and reference filled! And lovey! Oh why isn’t Phantom here now!
But alas he is not, and I await my pizza alone. I’m glad I spent my afternoon movie watching and crocheting (though I had to stop because I’m developing a crochet claw). Now that it’s out of my system though I can focus on the banner I have to make tonight for World on a Plate. The entire rez is cooking and preparing for the onslaught of hungry visitors Tuesday night who will be filling their plates with food from all different countries.
Of course because we like to break the rules of conformity, Jess, Tama and I are cooking Jewish food. No country for us. So I’m not entirely sure what our banner is going to say. It’s supposed to be something like “You are now entering Canada”, but “You are now entering Jew-town” might offend. Phantom wants me to write “Jewin’ it Up in the Old Jew Box”… but I’m pretty sure that’s worse. I don’t know. But we are planning on making t-shirts with slogans like “Love to Love the Latkes” and “Kiss my Knish”.
If Matt thought his sweatshirt held the latke smell after one night of latkes, I wonder how long I’m going to smell after cooking three hundred latkes in one afternoon!
