In my extended family the ages at the kiddie table range from thirteen to twenty seven, yet as all the cousins get older my aunt still hides easter eggs out on the front lawn for us to hunt. Now this used to be a good 'ol fashioned hunt, but in the past five years we've had full-contact easter egg hunts where it's every person for themselves. Basically we all grab baskets of some sort, (this year it was big cups) and we run out the front door and find as many eggs as fast as we possibly can...
Mmmm back to stress. I have much to blog, but little sleep to do it on. I felt like posting something, but I don't have the energy right now to post on the various topics that are to come. Tomorrow when essay number two is handed in and essay three has until Wednesday night to get finished I'll blog away about such magical things as full contact easter egg hunts, 86th birthday parties, skipping, hot loops, and feminism. We'll see how it goes.
My little brother is turning 13 at the beginning of April and I want to put together a teenaged survival kit kind of thing for him, but as I have never been a teenaged boy I don't know what they need to survive. I want to get him something really cool and grown up, as well as fun things. The only cool grown up things for him that I could think of were a swiss army knife or a zippo, but he has both already, so I need to think of something else. The only restrictions are that I don't want to...
Friday night Phantom came up to visit for my hall's formal. It wasn't a huge deal formal, but we all dressed up fancy, had a couple drinks, took a couple pictures and headed over. About 125 people from all of the LLCs showed up, which isn't too bad. The food that they promised consisted of two trays of fruit, two trays of vegetables and one tray of cookies for the entire night. Not too impressive. And the music was all right. They had they're highlight moments when they played Zepplin, ...
Jess and I had possibly the nerdiest conversation we've ever had this morning over breakfast. We were discussing what kind of Jedis we'd be. The answer: not very good ones. Jess maintains that she would be noble, but probably better at the administration stuff than in battle. I just have this image of her wildly brandishing her bright fushia lightsaber screaming "Get back!". We determined that my lightsaber would be orange with yellow swirls through it. Pretty hot. We'd both need to b...
While taking a break from my essay writing, a group of us ventured off to the mall. We made the rounds looking for a formal dress for Tama until she decided that she was just going to go buy some fabric and make a dress for herself. As she was down in Fabricland, a group of us stayed in Chapters to kill time. After making my rounds of the store Jess and I finally ended up in the sex section. As I was reading a book about Kama Sutra and figuring out how I might do the half-supported co...
I feel like I've been buried under a pile of stress lately and my body and mind are not dealing well with it. I have a pseudo-cold. Kind of like a cold pre-cursor where my throat is tickly and my sinuses are feeling the pressure. I'm doing everything I can to avoid actually getting sick including brewing up some magic potion ginger tea, but who know what will happen. But in the interest of my own well being I took a Mental Health day today. I let myself sleep in until ten thirty and no...
there once was a girl named Jess who felt her academic life was a mess but she was really hot and played Zuma a lot so clearly she is the best
I hate my human rights group. I hate that they don't listen to my ideas. I hate being treated like I'm invisible. I hate getting sick. I hate not having enough time in the day to finish everything I need to get done. I hate that Phantom is an hour away. I hated that production of Cabaret I saw last week. I hate group meeting for projects I don't want to do. I hate when people use the bible to support hatred. I hate prejudice, racist and homophobic posts. I hate that people justify th...
Sir Peter has recently declared his love for me and frankly I'm shocked. Mere weeks ago he was calling me a facist, and now he's referring to me as a "beautiful filly" and saying that I am of a "different class". Where is this all coming from? Maxwell, when did you go from hating my strength as a woman to loving me? Are you really at a point where you think you can handle me being the dominant one? (The title of the article that he posted on was "I may be little, but frankly I'm dominant...
After seven months of living in residence I've decided that it is not far off from living in a retirement home. I'm trying to soak up the last month of rez since it's going to be quite some time before I indulge in this lifestyle again. Top Ten Reasons why Residence is like a Retirement Home: 10. Your food is prepared for you 9. You have to share a tv 8. You have roommates 7. You worry about people stealing your stuff 6. There is no shame in walking around in your pyjamas 5...
It's funny, living in residence makes my social persona different. Whereas in high school I could come across as sweet and innocent to most and only those who knew me well would know the secret dirty truth, here pretty much everyone knows the truth. This isn't on purpose by any means, but when my friends and I are taking slutty pictures in the hallway, people know. Also, my general joking around reaches a wider audience which makes me appear more crass than I intend to. It doesn't bother ...
Thursday I saw a horrible randition of Cabaret. Everything about it was bad! In a secret way I'm kind of glad. I auditioned for it back in September and didn't get cast and at the time I was all disappointed, but now I couldn't be happier that my name wasn't attached to that three hour long, ten dollar crapfest. They must have put all of their budget into advertising, ticket printing, and programs, because those were the best part. Everything from the directors interpretation of the scri...
Jeremy G just posted an article entitled "I don't like Jews or Pakistanis". I'd just like to say that I don't like Jeremys. I mean, there are one or two Jeremys that are okay, but generally every Jeremy I've ever met has been obnoxious, prejudice, and rude. That's not to say that I judge a Jeremy before I get to know him, but it's been my experience that every Jeremy fits this description. This is not prejudice, it's just based on my experience of not liking any Jeremy I've ever met.
My entire week this week was basically building up to the two presentations I did this morning, and though there's a little relief that it's all over, I won't be satisfied until I hand in my three essays. As of right now none have been written, but I still have some time before the first one is due. Not a lot of time, but some. Last night I dragged Tama and her sister to dance class with me. Little did we know that ballet-tyrant Stephanie was filling in for our regular instructor. I ha...
